Sahira Nair
Sahira Nair’s first interaction with the world of film started at age eight, while playing the role of young Mina in Mira Nair’s Mississippi Masala. Although she continued her share of acting with roles in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Monsoon Wedding, and Namesake, her true calling was always content creation. Working in production as a freelancer in New York, she worked on series such as The Sopranos, Rescue Me, Gossip Girl, and CSI NY. Nair also worked on feature films like Enchanted, Darjeeling Limited, Tenderness, and The Good Shepherd. With such a wide array of experiences in long form content creation, she moved back to India, aspiring to create a similar genre of premium content for the Indian audience. She began her journey with the first season of a show titled The Dewarists on Star World, and later became part of the creative team that went on to launch Epic Television Networks, Discovery Jeet, and MX player. Having taken on the role of head of Hindi Scripted Series at Amazon Prime, Nair leads the charter going forward. Over the years, these series have played a crucial role in engaging customers through stories. Shows like Mirzapur, Family Man, Made in Heaven, Bandish Bandits, Dahaad, and Jubilee, have received immense customer love. Nair has been a key creative force behind these stories.
