Maestro Sessions by Raghav Chandra and Ishan Sharma
Raghav Chandra is a Hindustani Classical Violinist from New Delhi, India. Born into a family steeped in musical tradition, Raghav began his musical journey at a very young age under the guidance of his father and Guru, Shri Sharat Chandra Srivastava, a disciple of his grandfather Pt. Joi Srivastava, a distinguished exponent of the Senia Gharana of Indian Classical Music. His early exposure to the nuances of Hindustani Classical violin set the foundation for a lifelong passion and pursuit of mastery. Beginning his musical journey at the age of six, Raghav has performed at prestigious venues across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Odisha, Jaipur, Udaipur, Gujarat, Goa, as well as in Dubai and Canada. Known for his collaborations with various artists and fusion bands, Raghav aims to blend Indian Classical music with contemporary genres, exploring new musical horizons. His goal is to become a successful violinist, composer, and producer, pushing the boundaries of traditional music. Currently, he is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Music (Honours) from University of Delhi. With a rich musical heritage, a global perspective, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Raghav Chandra continues to rise as a leading voice in the world of Hindustani Classical music, constantly pushing the boundaries of what the violin and Indian Classical music can achieve in the modern world.
Ishan Sharma
Born in a family full of avid music listeners, Ishan was exposed to a variety of music from his very childhood. His father being the main source of music in his life, he was introduced to the music of legendary Maestros like Pt. Bhimsen Joshi ji, Pt. Jasraj ji, Ust. Zakir Hussain saheb, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma ji, Ust. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan saheb, to name a few. Soon his love of music grew into a passion for learning to play the tabla. At the age of 8 Ishan started learning from Guru Shri Ravindra Kumar Soni ji, and has been under his guidance since then. Ishan has had the fortune of performing on various stages in Delhi and around India, such as the Khajuraho Literature Festival, the IIC Spring Fest, the Abhivyakti Arts Festival, the Centre Stage Festival, and the Jaipur Literature Festival, to name a few. He has also been very fortunate to play at the TaalYogi Ashram's Gurupornima Sohola, in the presence of Pt. Suresh Talwalkar ji. He is currently in the popular Delhi based fusion band, The Anirudh Varma Collective, as a session tabla player, as well as with the Violin Maestro Sharat Chandra Shrivastav (of Mrigaya) in his project: Sharat and Friends. Ishan has also done his Bachelor's in Percussion Music from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts Delhi University and is currently pursuing his Master's degree in the same.
